ABOUT MIE

Not the
linear path.

I’m Mie Melander. A Dane by passport, a Berliner by choice, queer, and someone with a consistent track record of ignoring the expected route.

THE STORY

How a Dane ended up building a studio in Berlin. The short version.

12 years across commercial roles in esports, SaaS, and global events. A coaching practice built on an ICF-aligned programme. A studio that brings both together.

I got my first job at 12 by walking up to a company and asking for one. Bold strategy, 10/10 would recommend. I worked all the way through school and university. Not because I had to, but because I was curious and wanted to be part of the world. That willingness to just show up has shaped everything since.

What followed was 12 years across global sports events, SaaS startups, a telecom company, event platforms, and eventually esports; leading commercial departments, rebuilding account management teams, and being appointed by the global IRONMAN team to lead partner integration across international events. The thread through all of it was always people. Not the sexiest commercial USP, but it turns out it works.

At some point, working the way I was working stopped being sustainable. So I pressed pause, bought a one-way ticket to Australia, and lived in a camper van for a while. Yes, an actual camper van, with actual sunrises (and mice). Somewhere in there, I asked the question I'd been too busy to ask: What kind of life do I actually want to wake up to? The answer pointed here.

Melander Studio is the honest combination of everything I am. The commercial expertise and the coaching practice. The strategic thinking and the hands-on execution. I'm completing an ICF-aligned programme because the people who trust me with their actual lives deserve someone who knows what they're doing.

WHAT I BELIEVE

The principles I've arrived at, not chosen.

These aren't values I picked from a nicely designed framework. They're what I've arrived at from years of working closely with people. The things that show up in every session and every engagement, named or not.

1

CLARITY OVER COMFORT

The most helpful thing I can do is tell you the truth. Kindly, directly, and without softening it into uselessness.

3

HUMAN FIRST, ALWAYS

Behind every commercial problem is a people problem. Behind every personal struggle is someone trying their best with what they have.

2

SUSTAINABLE OVER IMPRESSIVE

Short-term results that cost too much long-term aren't results. I care about what's still working six months after we've finished.

4

EARNED TRUST, NOT ASSUMED

Trust isn't given because of a title or a contract. It's built through showing up consistently, doing what you said, and telling the truth when it's inconvenient.

Let's talk about
what you're building.

Every engagement starts with a conversation. No pitch, no pressure, no deck. Just an honest look at where you are, what's not working, and whether I'm the right person to help.
